Erik Anderson Designated as Certified Civil Trial Attorney

Our firm is proud to announce that founding partner Erik Anderson was recently designated as a certified civil trial attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court. This exciting accomplishment is reserved for a select few lawyers who currently practice in the state and have set themselves apart as exemplary civil trial practice attorneys.

Lawyers are able to apply to become civil trial certified, and the New Jersey Supreme Court makes their selections based on the experience, education, knowledge, and skill of each applicant. The standards set by the Supreme Court are high.

In order to be certified as a civil trial attorney by the Supreme Court, an attorney must have:

  • Been a member in good standing of the NJ bar for over five years
  • Fulfilled ongoing continuing legal education requirements
  • Displayed a significant level of experience in civil trial law
  • Been positively evaluated by other peers and judges acquainted with their work
  • Taken and passed a written exam in civil trial law

Attorney Anderson Set Apart from Other Lawyers in NJ

Out of approximately 72,000 practicing lawyers in New Jersey, only 1,600 hold Board certification as of June 2012. Erik’s designation certainly distinguishes him from his peers.

New Jersey’s certification program serves as a way to help the public locate attorneys who are set apart in various areas of law. Five different practice areas are approved for certification, including civil trial law, criminal trial law, matrimonial law, workers’ compensation law, and Municipal Court law.
